About The Book Garden
The Book Garden is a community-driven bookstore in the heart of Koukaki. Founded in early 2020 the shop was born from a desire to combine a love for literature with a deep commitment to social justice. Originally created to be a sanctuary that supports survivors of abuse and exploitation, we operate with a clear philanthropic heart: all proceeds from our shelves are dedicated to this vital mission.

The shop is intentionally full—overflowing with stories and life. While our shelves are the main attraction, we’ve created a space that mirrors the rhythm of Athens itself. Sometimes it is buzzing with the energy of the city, and at other times, it is a silent retreat.

The Kettle is On: We believe in the old-school art of hospitality. If you stay with us long enough, you’ll hear the kettle whistle; a cup of tea is our way of saying you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.
